Old-Fashioned Italian Nausea Tea
Old-Fashioned Italian Nausea Tea
1 cup (240 ml) water
3 to 4 whole fresh basil leaves
1 teaspoon (5 ml) honey, optional
herbal experts point to basil, a member of the mint family, as having the power to relieve all kinds of stomach upsets, including nausea and acid reflux. But you don't have to make a big batch of pesto sauce to see of it works for you. A simple cup of tea will do nicely. Bring the water to a gentle boil. Steep the basil leaves in the water for 10 to 15 minutes, keeping it covered to preserve the volatile oils. Strain the tea and add honey, if desired , then drink.
