An intense, sharp aroma characterizes this medium or dark amber honey. The taste is equally forceful, essentially nutty, whith a slightly bitter, almost tannic aftertaste. France and Italy are major producers. Despite the robust flavour, chestnut honey is recommended for stirring into coffee.
