Lavender Furniture Wax – DIY
1/4 cup (60 g) beeswax
1 teaspoon (5 ml) lavender essential oil
You can usually buy beeswax where woodworking supplies are sold because it is a common ingredient in homemade wax polishes and an excellent, light lubricant for wooden moving parts. Although the scent of beeswax is pleasant by itself, adding a whiff of lavender to the mix will give you a distinct custom combination that might even make housework more relaxing. Melt the beeswax in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in lavender oil. Pour mixture into a shallow glass container, then allow to harden. Use as you would a commercial furniture wax, applying a thin coat with a soft cotton cloth and buffing to a warm glow.
