Honey and Wheat Germ Softening Lip and Face Mask
Honey acts as a humectant, drawing moisture from the air to the skin, thus this mask is deeply soothing, moisturizing and hydrating. It’s wonderful to use during the cold, dry winter months or if you live in an area with low humidity and if you do a bit of traveling. This mask is an excellent resource for using after you have gently exfoliated your lips, apply mask, then lip balm for a soothing and hydrating effect.
1 tablespoon fresh, raw honey
1 teaspoon sunflower seed meal
1 teaspoon fresh, raw wheat germ
Thoroughly combine all ingredients in a small bowl and allow to set for a couple of minutes
Pat onto the face and lips with your finger tips, then lie down, relax and leave on for approximately 30 minutes. After the allotted time, rinse with a very warm, damp cloth. The honey will become thinner and have a tendency to run as it warms to body temperature, so be sure to tuck your hair away from your face prior to application or you’ll have a sticky mess. You may want to place a towel behind your head as well.
This recipe is gentle enough for children’s delicate skin and lips too.
