Tea Tree Essential Oil for Acne

Three times a day, dab a drop of tea tree oil on blemishes to discourage infection and speed healing. Research has found that 5% tea-tree oil is as effective against acne as a 5% benzoyl peroxide solution.

Tea tree oil is very antiseptic and antibacterial, hence it kills bacteria. It can dry up infections, which is what acne is. Try using this essential oil for a week. Remember to apply it only on the blemishes. If applied all over, it can cause your skin to over dry which could cause more acne. Only apply on blemishes.
