All Natural Dishwasher Soap
All Natural Dishwasher Soap
1/2 cup (120 ml) liquid castile soap
1/2 cup (120 ml) water
1 teaspoon (5 ml) fresh lemon juice
3 drops tea-tree oil
1/4 cup (60 ml) white vinegar
1/2 cup (110 g) baking soda for every load
If you use this homemade dishwasher soap as an alternative to a commercial chlorine-based detergent, you will save money and enjoy sparkling clean results. Combine the soap, water, lemon juice, tea-tree oil, and vinegar in a 12-ounce (350-ml) squeeze bottle. Shake gently to distribute ingredients well and store in a cool, dark place. To use, sprinkle a handful of baking soda over dirty dishes. Place 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of the mixture in the soap dispense; if your dishwasher has another slot for the first part of the wash cycle, add another tablespoon (15 ml) to that compartment as well. Run the dishwasher as usual.
