Lavender Laundry Softener

3 cups (700 ml) white vinegar
3 cups (700 ml) distilled water
1 teaspoon (5ml) lavender essential oil

Vinegar has a wonderful reputation as a natural fabric softener. the mild acidic properties of vinegar do a great job at breaking down soap proteins to make your wash truly clean. But some people resist putting vinegar to such a good use because they find its sour scent unpleasant. If you've been hesitant to give vinegar a try in the laundry room, consider adding a little lavender essential oil to make things more sweetly aromatic. Combine the vinegar, water, and lavender essential oil in a large plastic jar with a lid. Shake vigorously to combine ingredients. use approximately 1 cup (240 ml) per load, added during the rinse cycle.
