Orange Blossom
Avocados are extremely good for the skin, mainly because of their high vitamin E content. Combined with parsley, asparagus and orange, this juice makes a great cleanser and skin tonic. If you have a particular skin problem, drinking this juice regularly should really make a difference – it is extremely effective and much cheaper than many skin creams on the market.
Makes 2 glasses
1 small avocado
small handful of parsley
75g/3oz tender asparagus spears
2 large oranges
squeeze of lemon juice
mineral water
orange wedges, to decorate
- Half the avocado and discard the stone pit. Scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor. Remove any tough stalks from the parsley and add.
- Roughly chop the asparagus and add to the avocado. Blend thoroughly until the smooth, scraping the mixture down from the side of the bowl, if necessary.
- Juice the oranges and add to the mixture with lemon juice. Blend briefly until the mixture is very smooth. Pour the juice into two glasses until two-thirds full, then add ice cubes and mineral water. Decorate with chunky orange wedges.
Tip:
The orange and lemon juice in this blend means that the avocados will not discolour, so you might want to refrigerate a glass for later on. If it has thickened slightly, stir in a little extra mineral water.
