Blender suggestions:
Mix softer apples in the blender. Remove the seeds, stem, and flower, and peel if you prefer. Chop into 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes and pulse the blender at the slowest speed until the fruit breaks up and liquefies. Leave the blender running until the juice is your desired consistency.
Ginger can be minced and dropped into a blender first with a bit of apple. Blend until the ginger is very fine – stopping occasionally to push the pieces with a rubber spatula – and then add the other ingredients.
Smoothie Option:
Ice, sorbet, or ice cream ( 1/2 cup / 120 ml ) should be dropped into the blender after the juice is mixed. You can add milk or yogurt to the blender, or you can whisk it in by hand. Remember that lemon juice curdles milk, so adjust your recipe accordingly.
Warm Juices:
Warm apple-based juices are delicious. Heat gently in a saucepan until warm. Do not boil.
