Vegan Substitutes for Cheese
Cheese:
Hard and soft vegan cheeses are now available, which are made from soya milk. Flavors include Cheddar, Cheshire, Gouda, Stilton or Edam. A Parmesan powdered cheese is also sold for use on pizzas and pastas.
Nutritional Yeast Flakes:
These "cheesy" tasting flakes are grown for the health food market (unlike brewer's yeast powder, which has a better taste, and is a by product of the brewing industry). Use them to flavor sauces or sprinkle on top of hot savoury dishes.
