Mint-Parsley Mouthwash
Mint-Parsley Mouthwash
1/2 cup (120 ml) water
2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh mint, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh parsley, coarsely chopped
Fresh parsley contains a high level of chlorophyll, a key ingredient in many natural breath-freshening products. And mint provides the classic scent we typically associate with dental care. Bring the water to a gentle boil. Steep the parsley and mint leaves in the water for 30 minutes. Allow tea to cool to room temperature, keeping it covered to retain the volatile oils. Strain the mixture through a small sieve lined with a coffee filter or cheesecloth. Use as you would a commercial mouthwash: swish it sround in your mouth for about 1 minute, then spit it out.
