Sage Tea Gargle
Sage Tea Gargle
1 cup (240 ml) water
2 teaspoons (10 ml) dried sage
For most people, the pain from a canker sore only lasts a few days, and the sores usually heal on their own within a week or two But if you're not the patient type, try this easy herbal rinse. Sage contains tannis, which herbal experts say have antiseptic qualities that can help send painful canker sores packing faster. Bring the water to a gentle boil. Steep the sage in the water for 10 minutes. Strain and allow tea to cool to room temperature, keeping it covered to retain the volatile oils. Use as you would a commercial mouthwash: swish it around in your mouth for about 1 minute, then spit it out.
