Treat Dy, Brittle Hair with Hijiki Nutrients – Nourishing Hijiki Rinse
It is said that the wives of Japanese samurai used a hijiki-based shampoo to keep their hair strong and healthy. The rinse version is equally effective in that the seaweed not only removes residue but also nourished the hair and scalp with a rich supply of nutrients.
Recipe:
1 teaspoon powdered dried hijiki seaweed
1/2 cup distilled water
In a small bowl, mix powdered seaweed and water until it forms a paste-like substance. Apply to clean, damp hair; massage into scalp and wrap hair with a towel. Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse hair with cool water.
Hijiki is a brown sea vegetable growing wild on rocky coastlines in China, Japan and Korea. Packed with nutrients and minerals, hijiki is a staple traditional food in Japan for centuries. Look to your nearest Health Food Store for the powder. If they do not carry it see if they can order it for you.
