Chamomile Canker-Sore Relief
Chamomile Canker-Sore Relief
1 cup (240 ml) water
2 tablespoons (10 ml) dried chamomile or 1 chamomile tea bag
Herbal experts often recommend chamomile to soothe inflammation, especially in mucous membrane areas such as the inside of the mouth. Bring the water to a gentle boil. Steep the chamomile in the water for 10 minutes. Strain and allow tea to cool to room temperature, keepinf it covered to retain the volatile oils. Swish it around in your mouth for about 1 minute. Chamomile tea is quite drinkable, so no need to spit it out if you enjoy the taste. If you use a tea bag, extend the power of the tea by placing the used bag against the sore and holding it in place with your cheek or tongue for 10 to 20 minutes.
