Dill Seed Indigestion Tea
Dill Seed Indigestion Tea
1 tablespoon (15 ml) dill seed
1 cup (240 ml) water
1 teaspoon (5 ml) honey, optional
Eating pickles after a meal is a long-standing fold remedy for avoiding heartburn. Though it runs counter to the conventional wisdom, some say the acidity of the pickles sctually helps balance the pH levels in your stomach. Herbalists, on the other hand, are more likely to point to the power of dill. If you're not a fan of eating pickles, then this herbal antidote may be worth a try. Place the dill seeds in a shallow bowl and crush slightly by firmly pressing down on the seeds with the back of a spoon. Transfer seeds to a cup and bring the water to a gentle boil. Steep the seeds in the water for 20 to 30 minutes. Strain and add honey, if desired, then drink.
