Natural Ginger Ale for Nausea
1/2 cup (48 g) sliced ginger
2 cups (475 ml) water
1/2 cup (120 ml) honey
2 cups (475 ml) club soda
Ginger is a true powerhouse when it comes to digestive problems; it can settle upset stomachs and diminish cramps and gas pains, nut its reputation largely stands upon its ability to quell nausea symptoms. Some scientific studies even suggest it may work better in fighting motion sickness than the active ingredient in many over-the-counter medications. Combine the ginger and water in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Let simmer for 5 minutes, remove from heat, then let sit for another 20 minutes. Add the honey while the mixture is warm and stir until dissolved. Strain to remove the ginger pieces and refrigerate mixture until cool. Combine equal amounts of ginger mixture and club soda over ice. Stir and enjoy.
