Spicy Cinnamon Mouthwash
Spicy Cinnamon Mouthwash
1/2 cup (62 g) ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cups (350 ml) cider vinegar
Cinnamon's many healing properties include antimicrobial activity; cider vinegar is mildly acidic, so it is able to help flush your mouth of odor-causing bacteria. Combine the cinnamin and vinegar in a wide-mouth glass bottle with a tight-fitting lid (a large jelly jar works great). Store in a cool, dark place for approximately 2 weeks. Shake the jar gently every day or two so that the contents don't settle. After the two weeks have passed, strain the mixture through a small sieve lined with a coffee filter or cheesecloth. Use as you would a commercial mouthwash; swish it around in your mouth for about 1 minutes, then spit it out.
