Eczma, or atopic dermatitis, might sound benign – itchy skin. But it's really your body's way of telling you that your immmune system has gone overdrive, causing inflammation and itching. Eczema is closely related to asthma or allergies. outbreaks are often triggered by allergens such as dust mites, food allergens, and stress. Although most common in children, eczema can still be a significant problem for adults. Scratching just makes things worse, leading to swelling, cracking, and "oozing," and eventually resulting in crusty, scabby skin.
To Treat Naturally- Do This Right Now:
1. Begin using a prescribed corticosteroid treatment, or, if you don't have a perscription, use an over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream as directed.
2. Take a Claritin or a dose of Benadryl.
3. Fill the tub with lukewarm water and add 1 or 2 packages of Aveeno or 1 to 3 tablespoons oatmeal wrapped in a cheesecloth to the tub as its filling. Take a soak.
4. Use the Aveena as a paste mixed with water and apply to itchy spots. Leave on then rinse after 5-10 minutes with cool water.
