J.R. Watkins Naturals Apothecary Moisturizing After Sun Gel and SpPF 30 Sunscreen
J.R Watkins Naturals Apothecary Moisturizing After Sun Gel is stated to contain aloe vera gel and lidocaine, paraben free, dye free, phthalate free, propylene glycol free and alcohol free. 96.5% natural. 12 fl oz
This product does contain fragrance and a few preservatives which are what make the product not 100% natural. This product is used for the relief of minor burns, sunburn, minor cuts, scrapes, insect bites and minor skin irritations.
Personally, I love the smell, its very fresh and surprisingly not sticky. I wouldn't use a lot of the face as the preservatives could cause breakouts, but I think it is pretty safe to use especially with a sunburn as the skin will love the aloe vera. It is a light cream that is white in color. I think for light skin irritation this product would work. For more serious burns from the sun I would use straight aloe vera and lavender for healing. The bottle cost about $8.49 on sale = 7.64. For the price of sunscreens usually being around $10 and this product being under $10 I was very happy to try it.
J.R. Watkins Natural Apothecary SPF 30 Sunscreen is stated to contain Titanium Dioxide (white creamy stuff that takes a while to rub in) and Shea butter. This product is also paraben free, dye free, phthalate free, propylene glycol free 96.0% natural. 4 fl oz.
This product does contains a lot of ingredients I do not know how to pronounce, however, the bad ingredients that are really irritating to the skin are not included. This product does smell nice and takes a few minutes to rub in. It is not sticky and does soak in nicely. Since it is only an SPF of 30 it needs to be reapplied every 30 to 45 minutes while in the sun. It is a sun screen not a sun block so the sun rays can still be absorbed into the skin not repelled like a block protection would offer. I would use this product on my face however since it is a SPF 30 if prolonged stay in the sun I think I would use something a bit stronger. This would be a good block under makeup for everyday to and from. This product cost $10.99 on sale- 9.89. Pretty reasonable for a sunscreen price and it being natural.
Overall, I like these products, their packaging is nice and easy to use and I like the smell and the price.
