Gardener’s Hand Cream – Make Your Own
2 tablespoons (30 ml) beeswax
1 tablespoon (15 ml) coconut oil
1/4 cup (60 ml) vitamin E oil
1 tablespoon (15 ml) calendula tincture
5 drops lavender essential oil
1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) baking soda
Even if you wear gloves, a day spent working in the garden can take a toil on your hands, leaving them dried, scratched, and sore. The beesewax and coconut oil in this hand cream make a remarkable soothing combination, and the addition of calendula and lavender will help treat minor skin irritations swiftly. Place the beeswax and coconut oil in a small glass bowl and warm slowly in the microwave, heating for 10 seconds at a time, just until melted. Stir in the vitamin E oil, calendula tincture, lavender essential oil, and baking soda. Mix until smooth and allow to cool slightly before pouring into a sterile jar.
